I have been wanting to write about this woman for awhile, I just haven't been quite sure how to start. So, here is goes.
I encourage anyone who has a few minutes in their day to click on the Matthews Family blog link. This blog is one woman's amazing story. Her name is Nancy. I was fortunate enough to go to school with her, we went to the same church and her mom was one of my favorite teachers. She was, and still is, one of the most kind and genuine people I've met. Even though we weren't necessarily friends (we were more acquaintances if anything), I am awed, amazed and humbled by Nancy's story. She is a wife, mother and has cystic fibrosis. Nancy has endured many other major hurdles along her life's journey...all with a smile, optimism and hope. She is truly amazing and an inspiration to all who meet her. She has been on the transplant list for a double lung transplant, and last week her Christmas miracle came true. She was the recipient of two healthy lungs. Through her surgery and pain, Nancy continues to smile knowing she is well on the road to better health. One of my Christmas wishes was for snow (which came true). My other Christmas wish is for YOU to say prayers for a speedy recovery and prayers for her donor and his/her family. Nancy deserves the best in life, and now she has a chance to LIVE LIFE!
