Our friend Megan, from high school, lives there and invited us for dinner at her house before we left for home. Neither of us have seen her since we graduated high school (I won't mention how many years ago...too many to count:)) It was great to see her and get caught up on life. We all hope to get together again soon.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!
Yesterday, my friend Kari and I took our kids down to Colorado Springs and went to the zoo. It sits right on Cheyenne Mountain (hence the name) and is not an easy zoo to maneuver...it can be quite a workout. In my opinion, it's a great zoo (I think it's better than the Denver Zoo...and I love that zoo). The show stealers here would be the giraffes, and the fact you can feed them crackers. They are my favorite animal and I could stay there and feed them all day. All 4 kids did a great job all day considering no one got a nap. There were no real melt-downs until about an hour from home...not bad! If you ask Kami what her favorite part of the zoo was, her answer would be the naked mole rats. Yes, that is my child...the one that loves all thing creepy, crawly.

Kami and Brooklyn at the giraffe exhibit.
My favorite animal...up close and personal.
Kami was really excited about the carousel. I happened to take this picture right before Brennan started to cry. He rode the whole time in my arms.
