The Coen Clan: A rest from our crazy summer...if only for a moment!

We have finally been able to rest in between crazy times...next week we start with another round of craziness. Last weekend my sister-in-law and her family came to visit for a couple of days before heading to Keystone for my brother-in-law's family trip. The only down fall...I forgot to take pictures! We had a great time. On Friday we headed to City Park pool, which was fantastic. They have two water slides plus a little one for the little kids, pipes and tubes galore that shoot or pour out water, plus a "lazy river" that you can ride around in an inner tube. Everyone had a great time and I can't wait to go back. On Saturday, before they left, we went to a huge picnic. My friend's husband works for Caldwell Banker and every year they have a huge picnic at Fossil Creek Park for friends and family...this year we were invited (and we got to bring our family). The picnic had TONS of food, a rock wall, two trampoline bungee jumpers, a bounce house for the little kids, water games for the kids, tattoos and face painting and snow cones. My nephews tried out the bungee jumping things and had a blast. Kami did the bounce house, the games and had her first snow cone. It was a blast.

At preschool, they had a farm animal petting zoo. Kami loved it. The baby goat even got away, so Kami thought she needed to chase after it to rescue it...too cute! She was pretty interested in a duck, a chicken and some baby chicks. Even though it was a few days ago, she's still talking about it.

I finally got my act together and signed Kami up for swim lessons at our neighborhood pool (super nice because we get to walk). She's in level 1 and doing great (she's even the youngest in her class). Better yet, I don't have to be in the pool with her. She's always the one who's yelling "Me first, me first".

We didn't go for our weekly hike this week as Pat was helping a friend install a utility sink and some ceiling fans, but we'll try and get one in on Sunday. On Monday, we are going to Vail with some friends (so excited). Next Saturday, we are going to a show at the Pepsi Center called "A Walk with the Dinosaurs". Kami has been talking about going for weeks now, so I finally bought tickets today. After the show, we are headed to Eldora, CO for my family reunion. After we return, the kids are going to spend some time at my parents and I am going on a girls weekend to Phoenix with a good friend from college (yes, I realize August isn't the best time to visit there, but it's cheap this time of year). Pat is going on a hiking/backpacking trip with a friend at that time as well. I can't wait!!!!
