Hike #2 to Gem Lake

There are 3 new blogs, so keep scrolling down!

The weather was perfect this morning, so we set out on another hike...this time to Gem Lake. This one was definitely more difficult. It was about 3.5 miles round trip, and there were quite a few switch backs with huge boulders. Although the book said family friendly, it wasn't very toddler friendly. Kami did a great job. She was only able to hike a portion of the trail, so she spent the majority of her time on Pat's shoulders (what a trooper). After today, we may try to find a used backpack to put Kami in (she's only about 5-7 lbs more than Brennan). Despite the difficulty, it was worth it in the end. The scenery was beautiful, the lake was very peaceful and we were able to get back to the car, eat lunch and head home before the torrential downpour of rain arrived. Hhhmmmm...what will we do next week!

This is where Kami sat for a lot of the hike.

Kami found a rock tunnel to play in. She loved it.

Brennan loves to play in the dirt...what a boy!
