Our hiking adventures continue. This time we picked a really good hike that Kami could do, but I think she got used to riding on Pat's shoulders time so that's where she wanted to be for about half the hike. We attempted Fern Lake this time. Since Kami had preschool in the morning, we left after we picked her up. Right after we got to the trail head, it started to thunder, lightening, rain and hail. Needless to say, we were pretty bummed, but hung out in the car to wait it out. By the time the storm passed, it was already 2:30. We headed out and hiked for a total of about 2 hours, but never made it to Fern Lake...it was a few miles farther than we thought. It was great to get out and will be a hike we attempt later when we can start in the morning.
Pat made coffee the other morning and decided to drink it on the front porch. I heard him yell for me to come outside, and this is what I found...
Pat's cousin's wife makes gorgeous handmade jewelry and infant/toddler girl hats (http://www.jacquecoenconcepts.com/). She sent one to Kami, which she loves, so I thought I'd include a picture.
These are some pictures of Kami and her friend Brooklyn playing in the pool.
We were invited to a 3rd of July Island Party at an island which is located just down the street from our house. It looked like some sort of island paradise. It was an awesome party! There was food, drinks, you could play sand volleyball (which Pat did), there was a huge trampoline in the middle of the lake you could jump on and even a dance floor to dance on. There were plenty of picnic table and lounge chairs to hang out on. I'm hoping someone will have another party there.
