During the beginning of November, we went to San Diego to visit one of my best friends from college and her family. Even though the majority of the our trip was rainy, we had a great time. We were able to go to Coronado on the ferry, Sea World (which ironically,
Kami had been wanting to go to before we planned the trip...of which the kids didn't know about it until the night before), Torrey Pines State Beach (on one of two days it didn't rain), we toured the USS Midway and Pat and I got a date night in (thank you Mike and Angie). Everyone was sad to go home and we can't wait to go back and see them soon.

Hanging out on the ferry to Coronado. I had to buy short sleeved shirts for the kids and I once we got there...Pat was the only smart one.

Passing by the USS Midway on the way to Coronado.

We rented a
surrey bike to ride around while we were visiting Coronado. Trying to pedal a bike for four people (even though two people were
pedaling) was hard. What a workout.

The kids found a playground to play at while on our bike ride. How can you beat sliding by the sea?

Playing on the beach while waiting for the return ferry.

Brennan loved the beach.

Look closely and you'll notice Brennan's clothes are wet...he fell in the ocean!

Poor guy was so tired on the ferry ride back to San Diego, he fell asleep sitting up.
It rained the entire day we went to Sea World. We were all quite soggy by the end of the day, but nobody was complaining as there were hardly any people there and no lines to wait in. Plus we got great seats for all the shows.

Waiting for the
Shamu show to start.

Angie, Brennan, Will and
Kami enjoying the show.

The dolphin show! During the show, the sun came out for a few minutes, then it started raining again.

Too cute! Will and
Kami are only 2 days apart. Last time they saw each other, Will was in a biting phase:) This time they got along great...no fights the entire time.

A snoozing seal!

More
Shamu!
The only sunny day we had, we went to Torrey Pines State Beach. We took a hike down to the beach, played in the water, ate a picnic lunch, built a sand village, flew kites and found a ton of little sea shells. The weather was great and the kids had a great time! How can you not have fun at the beach...even if it isn't swimsuit weather?

Before our hike!

Sam (Angie's oldest), Brennan, Will and
Kami in a cave they found on the way down to the beach.

They loved playing in the water. Brennan proceeded to fall many times, therefore, ending up soaking wet. He didn't care!

Check out my wet clothes.

Building the sand village.

The finished product.

On our last day, we went and toured the USS Midway, which was used during Desert Storm. It is now decommissioned and is a museum. I've always wondered what an aircraft carrier looked inside, now I know!

Before getting on.

On the flight deck!

Getting debriefed!

Check out those bombs!

In the sick bay!

Let me check your teeth!
