Red River, NM!

The beginning of October, we packed up the kids, and my parents, and headed down to Red River, NM for a long weekend. We've never been, so we decided to check it out since it wasn't too far away! I have a goal on my bucket list of making it to all 50 states...this one was my last one west of the Mississippi River (only 12 more to go)! What a great place! Very small, quaint and peaceful. We stayed right on the ski resort with a ski lift about 30 feet to the left of our back deck (totally old school, though, with the pole in the middle of the chair). It's a small ski hill, but looked to be pretty fun...a place we might want to visit in the winter. The weather was great and the colors were gorgeous. There was a river right behind the condo, so the kids got to feed the ducks and we were greeted with a herd of deer every evening! Pat saw bear poop the first day we were there, but we missed out on seeing him when he emerged our last night there (bummed about that one). We spent a day exploring Red River and one exploring Taos (about 35 minutes away). The kids had a great time! It was a weekend well spent!

Brennan checking out the ducks and throwing rocks (not at the ducks)!

Brennan decided he didn't want to be a part of this family picture!

Papa and the kids resting on the chair lift. Kami is super excited to ski this year after seeing the ski hill.

My mom, Brennan and I!

The kids found this old ski cat and loved driving it!

Brennan found the stash of snow mobiles and wanted to drive every one!

Check out the magic carpet. The picture is only showing half of it...it's the longest one I've ever seen.

We found a park to play at. The is Kami attempting to do a cartwheel.

These were the gorgeous colors on the way home.
