2nd attempt to Cub Lake

Yesterday we headed to RMNP to hike to Cub Lake. We tried when Pat's parents were here, but started too late and didn't make it. This time we started much earlier...and still didn't make it. We put Brennan in the backpack this time and Kami walked most of it. She wasn't really into hiking this time, so we didn't quite get there (although I think we still did about 4 miles). Regardless, it was a great hike with some great scenery as the leaves are starting to change. It was hotter than we expected it to be, so that could have had something to do with Kami's attitude. This is my favorite time of year, so I'm trying to patiently wait for the weather to cool down and the trees to really start changing. We are headed to Bar Harbor, ME on Saturday for a week to check out the fall colors in Acadia National Park. I am so excited!
Starting our hike.
My family leading the way.
The trees are starting to change.
One of the few times Kami wanted her picture taken.
Marching along.
I love fall.
The kids loved sticking their feet in the pond.
Check out the bull elk under the tree.
Can you find the females?
