Last weekend we went to Colorado Springs. It was the last weekend we would be able to get out of town before the baby is born, so we took full advantage. I've never been there, and I LOVED it! Pat and I decided, had we included Colorado Springs in our choice of towns to move to, we would have ended up there (we still love Ft. Collins and have no plans of moving). Anyway, we took Kami to the zoo (which was better than the Denver Zoo). She was able to feed the giraffes, go on a pony ride, ride the carousel, see lots of different animals and walk to her little heart's content. We were also able to make it to the summit of Pike's Peak (14,110 feet). For those wondering, we drove:) No hiking involved...this time! A visit to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and Garden of the Gods rounded out our great weekend. Lots of walking, but well worth it. Enjoy the pictures!

What a great weekend!
I hope this entry finds everyone well. We've been busy since my last entry. We had a baby lunch with one of the couples we met at birth class (Baete's, we missed you!) We haven't seen them since June, so it was nice to hang out.

Kami and Makenna at baby lunch.
Kami and Toby snuggling up for her morning milk.
Help Mama! I'm stuck and can't mow the lawn.
Where are my crackers? I'm hungry!
Here you go giraffe! Bon apetite!
The giraffes are cool!
Wow! They are so close!
Kami loved her pony ride, but every time she finished a loop she'd say "Noner pony" (translation...another pony).
I am so cool!
Future cheerleader? The zoo had a diabetes walk going on, complete with young cheerleaders. They were kind enough to let Kami borrow a pair of pom poms.
Kami on the carousel!
On top of Pike's Peak (14,110 feet). Kami's first 14er...Pat and I's second.
View from the top!
Fall colors on the way down.
Manitou Springs cliff dwellings. These were built by the Anasazi Indians more than 700 years ago!

Awesome pics Amy!
I am so glad that you were able to get in one more outing before the next little one comes. Kami is absolutely adorable. We look forward to hearing about the new baby! Take good care of yourself and get some extra rest--yeah right! Best of luck to you all!
Love,
Debbie Blomquist
