We had a great time at my parents house last week. Kami got to help feed the horses every morning and she got to ride her favorite horse Yellowstone (Brennan even got to sit on him for a few minutes with Kami). She helped Nana cook dinner, bake Easter cookies and she got to dye Easter eggs. Unfortunately, I was sick with a super nasty cold all week. It was nice to have help with the kids, but being sick is not my favorite thing...especially when I couldn't run at all. Take about going stir crazy! I am feeling much better this week and have been able to continue with my training. I have a 5K next Saturday then my half marathon on May 3rd. Hopefully all this training will turn out to be beneficial even though I've missed two weeks.
I am, again, potty training Kami...and I think we are well on our way. She did a great job yesterday. No accidents and she even went potty by herself without me asking (which now confirms my suspicion she knows how to go). She had an accident at preschool today, which is fine. There was just too much going on and she wasn't quite sure about the potty (it was a miniature version of the big one and she has a little training potty that sings at home). Now we need to work on going potty with some distractions. Our good friends, the Baete's, are coming to stay with us this weekend with their son. Maybe it will help Kami to have a constant playmate for a few days. In any case, I do feel comfortable saying she is almost potty trained!
Brennan is continually growing like crazy. I weighed him at my parents, and he's now 17 1/2 pounds...what a bruiser! We have also solved the riddle of "Who does he look like?" I saw some pictures of my brother when he was a baby...almost a spitting image. The main difference is Brennan has dark hair and Ryan has blond hair. Pat also noticed yesterday he was getting teeth. Definitely one, possibly two, are starting to break through the skin. What a big boy. He can almost sit up by himself and he is a champ at rolling over. I am excited to see what the next day brings.
My mom is sending me pictures of last week, so once I get them, I'll post them.
