It may depend on how you are adding in your "cutest blog" background. Are you adding it via a HTML/JavaScript in "add a gadget"? If you did add it the correct way, maybe try changing your generic blogger template to a new one to see if that matters. Sorry, if I am no help. I have never come across that issue. I cant see your dashboard to see if something is funky.
Actually, when I came to view yours I still see the pumpkin/fall backround before the 'cutest blog' one comes up. You need to get on your dashboard and delete the fall background and you will be good to go!
