Dam to Dam!

Pat and I left the kids with my parents and headed to Iowa the beginning of June so I could run Iowa's Dam to Dam 20K. Since I was previously training for a marathon, I was confident I could break 2 hours...and I did. 1:56:46 was my official time and I was thrilled! My sister-in-law, 2 cousin-in-laws and one of my best friends also ran. Everyone did great and had a great time! It was humid, but cloudy and "only" 70 degrees. This was the 5th time in 33 years they've been doing the race that it was cloudy! Thank you Mother Nature!!!

Sara (my sister-in-law), me, Lexi (cousin-in-law), Dana (best friend) and Suzy (cousin-in-law) eating pasta the night before.
Kim (my sister-in-law) and me. We both have birthday's the beginning of June and I was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate with her this year.

Dana and me enjoying a Coors Light after the race. Not my beer of choice, but it sure was good after 12.4 miles:)

Me, Dana, Lexi, Suzy, Sara and Sara's friend Jen after the race. Boy are we glad to be done.
